THOUGHTS: Magic Hat is infamous for creating delicious beers which don’t follow conventional brewery thinking. And them damn hippies from Vermont came make a fine brew in lots of creative styles.

Traditional Oktoberfests tend to be pedestrian compared to Magic Hat Hex Ourtoberfest‘s ability to be anything but subtle. The malty ale gives you an emblematic feeling of fall’s arrival during one of the greatest changing of seasons known to man. It has a woodsy undertone that comes from a Cherry Wood smoked malt that Magic Hat uses—who puts a Cherry Wood smoked malt in an Oktoberfest? But it provides a nice bite that jumps out at you and leaves you with a sweetness, ultimately making you reach for the glass again quickly. Definitely one of the most unique and tasty Oktoberfests around, and a great change of pace for this early fall season.
