I love procrastinating. You could say I’m quite proficient at it. Even when it comes to my music. It’s been made easier in recent years—you hear a band you like and you can undoubtedly find their songs somewhere on the internet.

But I grew tired of this and finally ponied up yesterday for a cd I’ve been putting off getting for many months. It is Up From Below, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros debut album.

They’ve been getting some buzz around with their hit song “Home”, but I think there’s much more to this band than just this song. Their ensemble rolls 10 deep and they appear to trek around by bus to their own tune, harking days of old with their sound and spirit. Reminiscent even of the Merry Pranksters on some level.

Furthur we dig from the past to remake a better future.
